Happily Jaded New Year...

In the past year I have learned enough about the world to have developed a fine set of personal rules by which I model my life after. Here is the primary one: The whole concept of real or true or lifetime love who completes your infinite being is complete bullshit. I don't mean love in general, I love my friends...I love my family...and the timeless music of Led Zeppelin, of course. I am speaking more on the fairytale, Prince Charming, Julia Roberts, big beautiful smile and cascading red hair alike- standing on the balcony while she awaits Richard Gere moneybags to come and sweep her away, marriage- as- a- happy- ending, love- at- first sight- kinda thing. As far as I am concerned, that is a brand of miracle tonic mixed up by the wedding industry and E-Harmony for the entire purpose of sucking millions out of the wallets of other women out there like me. Single. Single and never married, at 37. Truth be told, I really don't have many good role models to look to who have actuall...

Curveballs...

So...Christmas is over and we ring in a new year soon. Let me tell you...the way this year transpired, I welcome the newness. (This from a chick who despises change usually.) I do want to talk about the changes in this year...some good, some dreadful, and recap a little from the perspective of Jadedgirl in 2008. There are many, but be cheerful in the knowing that some of them are actually positive. For once. We shall see if they stay positive. One can never fully assume anything, in my world. Good change #1... One of my best friends kicked her husband out last week. He was a lazy, no working, pot smoking, video-game playing, bigot. He never helped with the kids, never lifted a finger to clean. And never cooked-ever. LOSER. So my friend, who enabled him in this lifestyle for years, finally told him to get the eff out. Good girl! UGH...FINALLY! Myself and my other two best friends have begged her for years to get rid of this guy, but she was always scared of it...for what reasons...I cou...

Christmas Is Special...

Christmas is special. So...every year at Christmas something bad seems to happen to me, and to be honest I cannot fathom who I could have been in another life to deserve it. Hitler? Hussein? Mussolinni (sp?) Whoever it was, I would like to take a second to thank him for being such a dick and making me miserable. Yeah...it's a pity party...deal with it. Or don't read...whatever. It's not like anyone reads me anymore anyway. I have single-handedly ruined this blog with crying about my messed up life anyway. So, while I am on a roll...here's more of life's tragedy. I have this great job. I love it. Seriously...it's a great place to work. I have great co-workers, great bosses, great accomodations, great energy, fairly good pay. Yesterday I find out that I may be getting the boot. Why? Well...it seems that one of our "vertical teams" has dissolved that relationship with the client. I am still officially a "temp" employee. I was due to go company i...

Moving In Stereo...

I stole this meme from Katie at Notes From the Trailerhood. Fun! Thanks, Katie! :o) 1. Put your iTunes or MP3 player on shuffle. (Ok...since I don't have an Ipod of any sort...bummer, I know...I am using the playlist from my downloads on my computer.) 2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer YOU MUST WRITE THAT SONG NAME DOWN NO MATTER HOW SILLY IT SOUNDS! (I am going straight down the list...so not to cheat.) 1. IF SOMEONE SAYS “IS THIS OKAY” YOU SAY? Mother, We Just Can't Get Enough. (he he) 2.WHAT WOULD BEST DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY? Everything. (Yeah...it's that bi-polar thing. LOL) 3.WHAT DO YOU LIKE IN A GUY/GIRL? Sexual Healing (LOL...I swear...it was next. LOL) 4.WHAT IS YOUR LIFE’S PURPOSE? Settlin' (OMG...How weird is this???) 5.WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO? I've Been In Love Before. (Ok...now it's gone past weird to creepy.) 6.WHAT DO YOUR FRIENDS THINK OF YOU? Spotlight. (HA! Perfect!) 7.WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT VERY OFTEN? Love Touch. (a...

SEX.

Who doesn’t like to be the center of attention? When it comes to sex, the spotlight is on you. Only, forget “leaking” your secret sex tapes. These days, sex trivia is where it’s at. Whether you’re trying to impress a date, own the party or steal the show, prepare to blow anyone away with these “enlightening” sex facts that I dug up off of a few "social networking" sites. Some of them are pretty accurate, and others...well...you form your own opinion. Nothing like a little sex talk to perk up your cold winter Friday. Anyone getting laid this weekend? Good for you! Now read up and get schooled! LOL 1.Stay in Control. According to sex researcher Shere Hite, most men don’t marry the women they’re most passionately in love with. Instead, they like to remain in control of their feelings and choose their wives rationally. Furthermore, they’re quite proud of it. 2.Have Sex, Burn Calories. Junk food is not good for your sexual response. Fatty foods limit testosterone production, possi...

Boredom.

So, I was over at PH's place checking the scene this morning when I stumbled upon a list/survey of sorts that she picked up off of LollyGaggin's place. Hell...I'm not above stealing either. LOL I'm bored here at my desk on Turkey day and thought I'd put my two cents in as well. Plus this thing is kinda like a Myspace survey...which I am unbelievably addicted to. And...like I said...bored. Anyone else wanna join the ranks and have some fun? Repost at will, ya'll . :o) Things I've Done 1. Started your own blog -Duh! 2. Slept under the stars - Yes, I love to camp. 3. Played in a band - I have sang with a few...but not officially, no. 4. Visited Hawaii - I wish. 5. Watched a meteor shower - I think so? 6. Given more than you can afford to charity - I AM charity...anyone interested in giving me some...Yep, go for it. 7. Been to Disneyland - Disney World, yes. 8. Climbed a mountain - Hells NO, deathly scared of heights. 9. Held a praying mantis - When I was a...

Fabulocity.

To get my mind off of my woes...I'm doing a meme. (I'm doing my own since no one ever names me to do one) Some people hate doing them...I don't. I think they are a great time waster and a good deal of fun when you are bored. Like it or not the following people should repost and go along. -Pointlessly Hypertechnical -My Flock Rocks (Come out of hiding, chick...this one is mandatory) -Maria's World -Ramble On -Conniesue at- Just My Intuition And just so we have a male perspective in the gang: -I Do Not Know Me (Come on Jack...you know you wanna) The mission, should you choose to accept it- is to list 5 of your favorite indulgences or even the 5 things you cannot live without. Then send to 5 more friends, and repost the picture as well. Ok...this message will self-destruct in 10 seconds. Ok...it won't, but you get the picture. Here goes nothing. 1.) I can not live without my son. He's the light, the upswing, the pure unadulterated joy, the one true thing in my...

Hoildazed...

I'm NOT slipping back into a depression... But I am a little bummed these days. Of course, you might have guessed that it has everything to do with Christmas fast approaching. I'm really not sure how I am gonna pull it off this year. I'm almost to the point where I am worried that I am going to have to tell Bubba that there is no Santa Claus cause at least then I can explain why there are no Christmas presents under the tree this year and he doesn't think Santa forgot him. I'm not sure what's worse honestly...taking away his childhood innocence, or seeing his face on Christmas morning when there is nothing under the tree. Cause honestly...it's presents or they repo my car, take away my washer and dryer, and I get my wages garnished. Tough choice, huh? Geez...it just never seems to get easier. Hopefully the pawn shop is feeling generous (I have a slightly worn print/fax/copier to get rid of)...but with the economy, I doubt it. Sigh. It never ends. Again, Happ...

The Ex Philes (How I met my bff)

I spoke before about Brian, and how I ended up in that tired mistake of a semi-there relationship. But I didn't get to the part about the coincidences in meeting my bff . (Amy) I said that I met her through Brian...yes. But things that transpired in that time I didn't have a lot of time to mention before. One night while I was "wooing, or courting" Brian, I was invited over to Amy's house to drink. Amy still lived at home with her mom and her stepdad and Brian crashed there too. Still not knowing why Amy was passing on the bottle of Canadian Mist Brian and I were passing back and fourth (because I was semi retarted ) I happily drank and flirted with the object of my lust while girlfriend (Amy) glared at me from her bed. No...I still don't know why Amy allowed Brain to have me over, knowing I was a direct threat to her "happiness" (puke...sputter...gag...) I can only deduce it was because Brian threatened to leave he if she didn't. (Yeah...he wa...

Making Mistakes...

"Oh, no no no, it's my own fault. I had to make the big let's-be-friends speech... But who am I kidding? Big and I were never friends. We were...something else..." -Carrie Bradshaw (SATC) Tonight I am going to deviate away from the storytelling, and go back to Jadedgirl's personal life. Yeah...I know...you can probably hardly contain your excitement. In my defense, though, I need to not necessarily vent, more like purge some thoughts. So...screw it, read or don't...whatever. Anyway...last we left Jadedgirl's life...she was in trauma. She was in a dark place, a scary...almost (cringe) suicidal place...freaking out...lingering at the bottom of the bottle (metaphorically, of course, as the tummy won't allow binge drinking...probably a blessing, who knows?) Well...as you can all see, I am still here and the dark clouds seem to have passed on, and I think they have passed for good this time. How do I know this? I know this because I have figured out some th...

The Ex-Philes Part 3. Brian.

And on it goes... I remember being almost one of the oldest people to hang out at Stage 2. For those of you not from the area, or having possibly not gone to high school here, you may not have heard of it. Stage 2 was the quintessential hangout for anyone under 21 in the late 80's/early 90's. It was a "teen" dance club housed in the place directly next door to O'Leary's and Apples Bakery on Willow Knolls Road. Anyway, most of us not old enough to yet imbibe in adult beverages were stuck hanging out there to keep us out of marginal trouble. Oh, don't get me wrong...the kind of people I hung with usually found an afte party or someones house to go drink at after close, but...I digress. I stood in line for 45 minutes with my ticket to see a one-hit-wonder 80's band called " Trixter " ( dont laugh...I love 80's hair bands to this very day) Anyway, as I was standing in line I saw this hot looking burner guy with hair down to his ass. he loo...

A Letter to my Best friends...

I have many friends, well...let me clarify. I have few close friends, and many hang out friends. My closest are three bright, informed, passionate, funny, beautiful, and fabulous women from many walks of life. Let me summarize each one... First there is Zelda. Zelda is the mother of 5 children, the hardest worker I know, and the most dedicated caregiver of her family I have ever seen in my lifetime. She is also the sweetest, most giving soul I can think of and would happily give you the shirt off her back, or the last dollar in her wallet if she had it. Zelda supported Senator John McCain yesterday. Then there is Amy. Amy is a single mom of two of the sweetest kids on the planet. She has a son with special needs and makes triple-sure that he has the best and the brightest to educate him properly. Amy is also a giving person, and has been there for me many many many times when I have needed her the most. Her daughter is my namesake, and she was present at my own sons birth throughout th...

The Ex Philes- part 2

Chapter #2 (continued) At the outset of the relationship, Angelo had a rough-around-the-edges charm that fascinated this small town midwestern girl. I was naive beyond words and had scarcely experienced sex the way I had always imagined, or saw in the movies. Angelo was older (26), experienced, worldly, and important (to me, anyway). He rushed out and bought me things of which I never imagined I would ever have. He wined me and dined me at restaurants that I assumed I would never see the inside of, and taught me about real life. (or so I thought) I was captured in every way by him. Yes...I fell for the bullshit, and soaked it up like a willing and ready sponge. He knew this and took advantage of every second of it. I will say this, though...I do owe everything I know about sex to him. Being the self coined " sexpert " that I believe myself to be all started with Angelo. While he was a complete and total jerk, and a sexual addict, he KNEW what he was talking about. I believe ...

The Ex Philes

Chapter #1 John When I was 19 I met a devastatingly charming guy named John...now some of the guys in later posts will have pseudonyms to protect their identity, and others like John here, will not. This is for many reasons. #1 John is the personality type to be flattered by such words...positive or a bit negative. #2 Some of the guys would never read this blog, and #3 Some I could care less if I offend because they are douche bags. That being said...on we go. John... As I said was unbelievably charming, and funny. He made me blush and coo and act like a complete and total drippy retard with every smile he flashed at me. Not conventionally good looking per se, but considering the type I found myself looking at back in the early 90's, he was just my style. Let me describe him: 6'3 (or so), lanky and a bit awkward. Dirty blonde shoulder length hair, bright blue eyes, and a smile that could literally make you swoon. Body -wise he didn't fit the profile, but he looked like a se...
